Both systems are designed for mobile capture applications, specifically vehicle and backpack mount. Both iSTAR Pulsar and iSTAR Pulsar+ deliver 60.5 megapixel 360° imagery at up to 7 frames per second. Capture data is stored directly on the inbuilt SSD, both systems are also equipped with GPS and IMU sensors.
The core iSTAR Pulsar model utilises a Cloud based processing pipeline through our VR.World platform; once capture is complete, users upload the data directly from the device to our online platform for processing, and then may either publish the images to Google Street View, or download the stitched imagery. The iSTAR Pulsar+ model offers the same basic functionality as the standard iSTAR Pulsar, but provides the option to process the capture data offline using NCTech's Immersive Studio application for Windows 10. An annual licence fee applies for offline processing in this manner, $4000 for a 1 year licence or $9995 for a perpetual licence.
If a user plans on capturing more than 400 miles of data annually for the foreseeable future, the iSTAR Pulsar+ will likely prove to be more cost effective, allowing the processing of unlimited quantities of data for a fixed annual fee.
The offline processing workflow available with iSTAR Pulsar+ also produces combined GPS and IMU output that may be used to integrate the data with external systems, whereas the Cloud-based workflow used by the standard iSTAR Pulsar model currently does not. Users who wish to integrate their data with 3rd party systems should discuss their specific requirements with our Sales team to ensure that they can be achieved.
