How to use VR.World

This guide documents Quick Start instructions for using VR.World to process data and publish it directly to Google Street View.  Further information around other options/workflows may be found within:

1. Create VR.World account

1.1. Browse to http://pulsar.vr.world/, select option to "Sign Up"

1.2. Complete all form fields in full, then click "Sign Up" button

Users should ensure that "Order Number" is entered accurately, as this is how iSTAR Pulsar device is associated with the account.

1.3. Check email account specified for verification email, and click on the "Verify Email" button within it to complete registration

1.4. iSTAR Pulsar device(s) will now be linked with created VR.World account.

2. Link Google account to VR.World account

2.1. Browse to user menu in the top right corner and select "Account"

2.2. On Edit Profile page, next to "Google Account" click "Link" button

2.3. Enter email address associated with Google account and click "Next"

2.4. Enter password associated with Google account and click "Next"

2.5. Read details around allowing VR.World access to Google account, then click "Allow"

3. Add payment details

3.1. Browse to user menu in the top right corner and select "Account"

3.2. Under "Addresses", click "Add address"

3.3. Enter details for full billing address, then click "Save" button

Billing address entered must exactly match the one that the payment method being added is registered to.

3.4. If in possession of a VAT number, enter this under "VAT" and click "Save" button

3.5. Under "Payment Details", enter card number, month/year of expiry and CVC number, select correct billing address and click "Save Card Details" button

4. Upload data and await preview generation

5. Preview data

5.1. Browse to "Preview" tab

5.2. Locate capture in question, use both "Map" and "Preview" views to ensure that the data captured is as intended

6. Process data

6.1. Open Menu against the capture and select "Process Data"

6.2. Review cost of processing the capture and click "Add to Cart"

6.3. Click on Shopping Cart icon in the top right corner

6.4. Review total cost, check box to accept terms and conditions, and click "Pay Now" button

6.5. Await completion of processing

Capture will move to the "Processing" tab in VR.World while processing is in progress:

7. Publish data to Google Street View

7.1. Open Menu against the capture and select "Publish"

7.2. Confirm publish action by clicking "Publish" button

7.3. Data will be pushed to Google Street View and can be expected to go fully live within 48 hours

Publishing to Google Street View from via VR.World is a multistage process - once the data is pushed from one to the other, Google run their own algorithms on the data, the individual images generally go live within 24 hours, but it may take longer for them to be linked together within Street View as they should be.
